Building & Code Enforcement

Building & Code Enforcement is responsible for the protection, the health and safety of citizens through the enforcement of building codes and standards and City Ordinances in order to ensure that both new and existing structures within the City limits meet minimum health, safety, and construction standards.  This department reviews plans, issues building permits, and performs inspections for new construction, repairs, alterations, and remodeling of existing structures, as well as moving and demolishing buildings.  This department also receives complaints from citizens regarding code enforcement issues like broken down vehicles, substandard dwellings, and overgrown weeds.
