Water Quality Control Operator III
salary: $54,000 to $71,415 Annually - DOQ
(with potential for pay-for-performance up to $82,127)

The city is recruiting for an individual who has or is seeking experience in the full range of the operation of our water and wastewater treatment facilities.  For specific details about the position, see job flyer below.

The City will consider a California Grade II certified operator, but applicant must be able to provide a California Grade III certificate within six (6) months of employment.

The City will consider an OIT Grade III, but must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 30 semester units of science courses as spelled out in Chapter 26. Section 3685(a) of the State of California Title 23, and must be able to produce California Grade III certificate within two (2) testing cycles of employment.

“Science course” means a course in mathematics, physics, engineering, chemistry, or biology. A candidate will have two testing cycles to obtain a California Grade III Wastewater Treatment Operators certificate.

Minimum Licenses and Certificates Requirement:  Possession of a valid Class C California Motor Vehicle License, possession of a safe driving record per the City's driving standards and policies. Candidate must obtain a Class B License with Airbrake and Tanker endorsements within six (6) months of appointment; a valid Grade III or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate issued by the State Water Resources Control Board within six (6) months of appointment.
