"CRS Can Reduce Flood Insurance Rates for Live Oak Residents"

The City of Live Oak is a participant in the Community Rating System (CRS), which is a program that effectively reduces the flood insurance rates for the citizens of Live Oak located in a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) when the City completes and maintains certain activities to the satisfaction of the CRS Administrator.

The City's participation in CRS reflects a commitment to a sound floodplain management program for the benefit of our citizens. Credits are accumulated by the City for maintaining a proactive floodplain management program. Currently the City has a 9 rating which has already reduced the flood insurance rates by 5%.
