Economic Development and Business Assistance

The Live Oak Opportunity...

The City of Live Oak, with a current population of over 8,500 residents, is poised for economic growth.  Since 2000, over 700 new homes were added to the community, increasing the size of the local market and changing the historic population distribution on the State Route 99 corridor  between Yuba City and Chico.  A new, distinct market area has emerged and Live Oak welcomes your serious consideration of investing in the community's future.

Annually, the Live Oak City Council adopts a Community and Economic Development Action Plan (view current plan below) that outlines the Council's strategic goals for the year.  Please review the plan for a glimpse of the community's overall direction.

Live Oak values investment in the community and is committed to the goal of ensuring that investment dollars are spent on quality projects, not unnecessary process.  Our Technical Advisory Committee is available by appointment, to help you move forward with your business project.  If you have questions related to a potential business project in Live Oak, please schedule a meeting with the Technical Advisory Committee by contacting Alison Schmidt at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
