The City Clerk, under administrative direction from the City Manager, plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the work of staff assigned to scheduling and preparing the City Council agenda, records the proceedings of Council meetings, and maintains the official records and reports of Council actions.
The Clerk also responds to inquiries concerning past, present, and future business of the City Council and Council actions and performs the full range of assignments necessary to assist with the conduct and recording of Council meetings and actions.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintaining records of appointment of members to various boards, committees and commissions appointed by the Council
- Receiving and processing of public records act requests
- Receiving and filing of claims, lawsuits and petitions directed to the Council
- Publishing legal notices
- Maintaining the Live Oak Municipal Code
The Clerk also serves as the Filing Officer for Statements of Economic Interest (Form 700) for staff, Commissions, and 87200 filers.
Ordinances
Pursuant to Government Code section 25120 et seq., when a summary of an ordinance is published in lieu of the full text of the ordinance, the Clerk shall post a copy of the full text of the ordinance on the City's internet website.
